In 2018, the Leatherman Tool Group will celebrate its 35th anniversary. In commemoration of that, a valuable limited item will be released in February!

How was the first model, the origin of the brand, born?

Leatherman’s creator, Tim Leatherman, had a car breakdown while traveling abroad with his wife, and at the hotel, a sink leak and trouble continued.
He couldn’t deal with the trouble with his favorite Boy Scout Knife in 1975, so he was inspired to custom a “multi-tool” with pliers.
From there, every day I use cardboard and pieces of wood to shape ideas, learn metal processing, and make prototypes. The first PST model was born in this way. With the completion of PST, the Leatherman brand was launched in 1983.
